Trump’s presidency is history. What’s its ranking? The New York Times website published an article on January 23, comparing trump with some of the worst presidents in history. The excerpts are as follows
In the competition for the worst American presidential title, the bottom runners are always the poor ones who fight for the last place. One is Andrew Johnson, whose first presidential impeachment was caused by his bad behavior in the process of rebuilding the south. One is Warren Harding, who is responsible for the teapot Hill scandal. Then there is the hapless and hateful Franklin Pierce, William Harrison, who died of illness after only 32 days in office, and of course James Buchanan, who is often considered the worst because of the mess he did before the civil war.
But when historians look at Donald Trump’s merits and demerits, it seems that even the extremely incompetent Buchanan can hardly compete for the bottom spot.
“Trump is the first president to be impeached twice, and the first to incite mobs to attack the Capitol and interfere with his successor,” said Eric lauchway, a history professor at the University of California, Davis. These will undoubtedly go down in history, and in a bad name. ”
“I already think he’s the worst,” said Ted Widmer, a history professor at the City University of New York. &”He said that although Buchanan was bad, he was not as bad as trump;.
