U.S. President Biden is expected to announce measures to increase the purchase of U.S. goods on Monday (24th). The report says Biden will sign an executive order requiring the federal government to purchase $400 billion in U.S. goods and services within four years and invest $300 billion in important U.S. science and technology research and development.
Biden will also tighten the existing regulations to avoid loopholes. Many U.S. trading partners are concerned that the contents of the executive order will hinder global free trade. Canadian Foreign Minister garno said he is worried that Biden’s policy of buying American goods will damage the trade between the United States and Canada.
