Li Renzai, Li’s lawyer for F, said on the 25th, “decided to accept the judgment with an open mind and not appeal.” According to reports, that day is the last day of the legal time limit for appeal. If the prosecution does not appeal, then Li zaiff’s sentence will maintain the retrial result. According to previous reports, Li zaiff was involved in the scandal of “cronies interfering in politics” of former South Korean President Park Geun hye. He was suspected of donating and bribing to a consortium controlled by park Geun hye’s “best friend” Cui shunshi in order to inherit Samsung for convenience, and was charged in February 2017. Li was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in the first instance and two years and six months’ imprisonment, suspended for four years, and released in the second instance. In 2019, the Supreme Court of South Korea sent the case back for retrial. In October 2020, the Seoul High Court launched a retrial of the case. On December 30, 2020, South Korean prosecutors asked the court to sentence Lee to F9 years in prison. On the afternoon of January 18, 2021 local time, the Seoul High Court of South Korea pronounced a sentence on the retrial of the case of “cronies interfering in politics” of Samsung Electronics President Lee Jae F, and sentenced him to two years and six months’ imprisonment.
