Xinhua news agency, Kunming, January 26 (reporter Ding Yiquan) – according to China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd., Xishuangbanna tunnel, the control project of the whole line of China Laos Kunming (Ming) Wanxiang railway, was completed on January 26, laying the foundation for the completion and opening of the whole line this year.
Xishuangbanna tunnel is located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with a total length of about 10.7 km. It passes through the Lancang River fault zone, with broken surrounding rock, rich groundwater and frequent geological disasters. It is a class I high-risk tunnel. “In the construction process, the surrounding rock changes very frequently, and it is easy to slide and deform. On average, there is a small slide every three days, and a large slide every seven days.” Zhong ya, tunnel construction area manager of CCCC second navigation bureau, who is responsible for tunnel exit construction, said.
Since the commencement of the tunnel in May 2016, the South Yunnan Railway Construction Headquarters has organized various construction units to innovate a number of new technologies, such as rapid construction of tunnels in weak surrounding rock, auxiliary tunnel risk prevention and control technology, information design and construction rapid decision-making, etc., with the support of dynamic design. Through the “new technology + new technology”, the construction efficiency has been continuously improved to ensure the timely completion of the tunnel.
At present, the civil works before the domestic railway station of the old fellow railway have been basically completed, and the laying of tracks and station buildings are proceeding in an orderly way according to the plan. The China Laos Kunming Wanzhou railway is more than 1000 kilometers long. After it is completed and opened to traffic, it is expected that the railway from Kunming in Yunnan to Vientiane in Laos will arrive in the evening.
