According to India today, the fifth round of serum antibody tests against the new coronavirus in New Delhi, the capital of India, in January showed that one out of every two people in New Delhi tested positive, indicating that they had been infected with the virus. According to reports, the survey was conducted from January 10 to 23. Investigators collected 28000 samples in 280 areas of the capital. The preliminary results showed that 60% of the tested people were positive for serum antibody. According to India today, there are 20 million people in New Delhi, which means that at least 10 million people have been infected with the new coronavirus. The National Center for Disease Control of India and the municipal government of New Delhi conducted the first round of serum antibody test from June 27 to July 10. The results showed that the positive rate of antibody against new coronavirus was 23.48%. After that, three rounds of tests were carried out in August, September and October, and the results were 29.1%, 25.1% and 25.5% respectively.
Unlike nucleic acid detection, which aims to confirm whether the human body is infected with new coronavirus, antibody detection is mainly used to confirm whether the tested person has ever been infected with the virus.
According to the latest epidemic data released by India’s Ministry of health on the 25th, 185 new confirmed cases have been added in New Delhi in the past 24 hours, with a total of 633924 confirmed cases. There are 13203 new confirmed cases in India, and more than 10.66 million cases have been confirmed.
