According to him, Merkel congratulated Biden on his inauguration as president of the United States and said that Germany is ready to share the responsibility of dealing with international issues with its partners in the EU and across the Atlantic.
Sebet said that novel coronavirus pneumonia is necessary for Merkel and Biden to strengthen international cooperation. Merkel also welcomed the continued retention of us membership in the World Health Organization.
The two sides also discussed diplomatic issues such as Afghanistan and Iran, as well as trade and climate policies. Merkel welcomed Biden’s decision to return to the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Merkel also invited Biden to visit Germany when the epidemic situation permits.
