Russia suppresses activities of branches of terrorist organization “Islamic Liberation Party”

Moscow, January 27 (Xinhua) the Russian Federal Security Agency announced on the 27th that security personnel had taken a search and arrest operation in Kaluga, Russia, to stop the illegal activities of branches of the terrorist organization “Islamic Liberation Party”.

The announcement said that the security personnel seized the organization’s communication equipment and illegal propaganda materials used for terrorist activities in the operation. The announcement did not disclose the specific time of the operation and the number of people arrested.

The announcement said that the branch of the “Islamic Liberation Party” publicized the idea of terrorism in Kaluga and recruited members locally.

The “Islamic Liberation Party” advocates the establishment of a state of political and religious unity through violence. According to the ruling of Russia’s Supreme Court, Russia has identified the “Islamic Liberation Party” as a terrorist organization and banned its activities since 2003.
