Bishkek, January 28 (Xinhua) Kyrgyz president elect zaparov was officially inaugurated in the capital Bishkek on January 28.
On the same day, shaildabekova, chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Central Election Commission, presented zaparov with his presidential work card and badge at the inauguration ceremony.
Zaparov said in his inaugural speech that Kyrgyzstan will adhere to a multilateral foreign policy. Strengthening cooperation with strategic partners and economic and cultural ties is the priority of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy. Kyrgyzstan will fulfill its international obligations within the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union and other international and regional organizations.
Zaparov also said that China plays an increasingly important role in world politics and economy and hopes to further carry out mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
On the 10th of this month, Kyrgyzstan held a presidential election and a referendum on the country’s political system. Zaparov was elected with 79.20% of the vote and 81.49% of the voters supported the presidential system, according to the final election results released by the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission on the 20th.
