On January 14, the US government listed nine Chinese companies on the so-called “Chinese military related” blacklist, including mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi and aircraft manufacturer COMAC. According to the relevant investment ban, US investors are required to sell their shares in the “blacklist” companies before November 11 this year.

On January 15, Xiaomi group said: the company has always adhered to the legal and compliance operation, and abided by the relevant laws and regulations of the place where it operates, and its services and products are used for civil or commercial purposes; the company confirmed that it is not owned, controlled or affiliated by the Chinese military, nor is it a Chinese military company defined by the US NDAA law; the company will take appropriate measures to protect the interests of the company and its shareholders.
