The U.S. House of Representatives submitted its impeachment case against former president trump to the Senate on 25 local time, officially starting the Senate hearing process.

According to reports, the terms of the impeachment case accused trump of inciting riots to attack Congress, and put pressure and threats on Georgia officials about the election results, believing that trump endangered the democratic system and national security of the United States, interfered in the peaceful transfer of power, and violated the trust of the American people.

The impeachment bill was earlier backed by 10 Republicans in the house of Representatives. If it is to be passed in the Senate, there must be at least 17 Republicans defecting.
