Islamabad, February 1 (Xinhua) the first batch of new vaccines for foreign aid from the Chinese government was officially handed over to Pakistan on the 1st at nurhan Air Force Base near Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Qureshi said at the vaccine handover ceremony that Pakistan is the first country for the Chinese government to provide new vaccine assistance to foreign countries. He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for extending a helping hand again when Pakistan needs it.
Nongrong, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, said at the handover ceremony that the batch of vaccines provided by China to Pakistan is not only a medical material urgently needed by the Pakistani people, but also a vivid embodiment of the “iron rod” friendship between China and Pakistan. This is the first batch of vaccine aid provided by the Chinese government to the outside world, and it is also a concrete measure to implement the Chinese leaders’ Declaration on vaccine as an important global public product.
A total of 546428 confirmed cases, 11683 deaths and 501252 cured cases were reported in Pakistan, according to the Ministry of health.
